Stratford Christian Cooperative House is a privately certified house at the University of Illinois, but we also accept Parkland Students.
Because of the reciprocal housing agreement with the university, most U of I students are able to switch over to Stratford mid-year without penalty, if done by mid-November.
So what exactly is "cooperative living"?
As a cooperative house, each resident has certain responsibilities to keep the house a comfortable and enjoyable place to live. We cook our own meals every day except dinners on Saturday & Sunday. Each resident will serve the house approximately 3 hours a week with either cooking or cleaning, in times that work with each individual resident's class schedule.
Because the housework is evenly shared between all residents, the price of living at Stratford House is roughly two-thirds of the cost of the University residence halls.
There are so many ways to get involved at Stratford House! Below are just a few examples of how we spend our time here!
